Welcome to my home page! This page has been kept simple
intentionally, for speed of access and readability. (If you would
like to download images, follow the links to the web sites I've
developed for several singer/songwriters.)

Personal Background and Interests
Family
My wife and I live in the western suburbs of Boston. Fortunately
we share many of the same interests.
My sister
Karen
teaches English at Susquehanna University. The rest of the family is not web-enabled!
Music and Literature
For many years I have held a strong
interest in
singer/songwriters,
traditional folk music, and poetry.

Ornithology
I have studied birds since 1979 and contributed
to the second edition of Birds of Wellesley and to
nest record studies at the
Cornell Laboratory of Ornithology. I've
also kept 10 years of records of bird sightings at an old hill farm in
central Vermont and have participated in bird observation
studies by the Vermont Institute of Natural Science. I'm a member of
the Advisory Board of the Massachusetts Audubon Society's Broadmoor
Wildlife Sanctuary.
Hiking
My wife and I have hiked extensively in Scotland (The Highlands,
Skye, Mull, The Outer Hebrides, Orkney) and New England, and we spent
a couple of weeks in 1993 in the mountains of Switzerland.
Statistical Models and Computer Simulations of Sports
I designed the APBA Baseball Wizard, a commercially successful
PC software product published by Miller Associates. I've also
done consulting and programming for software companies that market
games simulating professional baseball, football, and basketball.
Rabbits
Rabbits make great companions, but they have a few particular
nutritional and medical requirements. The
House Rabbit Society
is a great source of information.
Humor
These few
favorite epitaphs
may give you a glimpse of insight into my sense of humor,
and perhaps even my philosophy of life.
